My name is Aubrey and I am a 4 month old Spaniel/ Beagle mix girl. I have quite a lengthy story to tell... I somehow ended up at a local shelter with a LOT of bumps and bruises. The shelter believed I was hit by a car and had a broken pelvis but it would take a rescue saving me and getting me into a vet to be certain. This is when CCHS stepped up and my foster mom couldn't resist taking in what she called a "broken" puppy.

She picked me up and quickly got me home and settled in ... things were looking up for me already. The next day I went on my first vet visit only to discover I had a broken pelvis AND a broken leg that would require pins to fix. I was such a trooper thru my examination and x-rays only to discover this was not a procedure the CCHS vet could do. Next step was up to my foster mom... finding a vet who could do my surgery! After a lot of phone calls and a very determined spirit she found a wonderful vet at Justin Animal Hospital who could and WOULD do my surgery for a rescue group. It was still going to be expensive but by this point my foster mom was already in love with me so off to Justin,TX I would go.

I had my surgery on January 27th and got to come home the very next day because I was such a good patient. Dr. Ingram did what he called an FHO on my pelvis to prevent me from having any future problems, and he inserted a cross pin in my leg so it would mend correctly. I will be going back to visit Justin Animal Hospital next week for a check-up, again the following week, and then in 4 weeks I will need to get the pin removed from my leg. My recovery will be a little bit of a process but I am sure I am going to be a wonderful addition to my new home when I am ready to go. If you are interested in adopting me it would be necessary that you understand I will have "special" needs for the next few weeks while I recover.

CCHS has gotten the VERY best care for me but ANY donations made to them to help with my vet care would be GREATLY appreciated.
