 On April 29th, Georgie was found stray in Ft Worth. He was lifeless and has a mass the size of a grapefruit on his shoulder blade. He was taken to local animal control where they got him into the CCHS rescue group. Georgie was rushed to the vet. His blood work was off the charts, he had a huge mass, and his feces was so impacted that it would need to be surgically removed. It was determined that most importantly he needed an emergency blood transfusion. The vet at Parker Animal and Bird Clinic worked after hours to get the transfusion done and then we all waited until morning to see if he would make it through the night.

Not only did he make it through the night, but he was standing up and alert! The vet then decided it was time to remove the mass on this shoulder blade and impacted feces as he wasn't able to hold any food down with the blockage. He had surgery that afternoon and did great. The incision was SEVEN inches long to remove the mass!

Georgie was doing great and then his appetite slowly deteriorated. He looked to be digressing but then he began having bowl movements and eating again! We thought he was on the mend until the foster mom came home from the gym to find him dead in his crate.

Georgie died in a warm, loving home w/ the knowledge that he was loved and cared for. Thank you Stephanie for giving him a comfortable place in his last days w/ us. We did all we could to save him, but there were bigger and better plans for this sweet boy.
