This is the story of
Grayson

Age: 1 year old
Weight: 12lbs
Breed: Chihuahua - Italian Greyhound Mix
Sex: Male

Grayson was found laying on the side of the road. He had been hit by a car and was in serious pain. He was taken to a local shelter and they were able to give him pain meds while they waited for someone to come forward to claim him. No one ever stepped up so he was brought into the CCHS adoption program where he sought immediate medical attention.

It was discovered that he had a broken pelvis and because of his size and the type of break, he is being confined to crate rest for the next 30 days. The good news is that he was Heartworm negative and is expected to make a full recovery!

3/02/2010 Update:
If you were to look at this little toot now (I swear) you would never know anything has happen to him.  He is up and playing (NO ROUGH PLAY) with my little foster, Skippy and my Teddy.  They play tug of war with this little stuff frog I got at Petco, eats like a little piggy and loves to snuggle on the couch with me or in his doggie bed.  Surprisingly enough, he has been hiking his leg here lately to go potty outside and is standing on his right leg!!!  So I thing his hip is healing up quite nicely.

Grayson has been neutered, brought current on his vaccinations and HW prev. He is HW negative and has been microchipped.

8/21/2010 Update:
While recovering from his broken hip, Grayson came down w/ Distemper. Distemper is a viral infection that is usually fatal. This little fighter wouldn't let it take him down! He fought the virus , healed from the broken hip and is now on the up swing of life. Because of the distemper, he has a little switch (kind of like hiccups that never go away). This does not effect his quality of life. Grayson plays, runs and carries on like any other dog that hadn't gone through the life threatening issues that he was able to overcome.

All he needs now to complete his wonderful story of resilience, is a forever home! Will you be his new home?!
