This is the Story of
Tontin

Age: 1 year old
Breed: German Shepherd
Weight: 65lbs

Tontin was owner surrendered after his family was moving and they didn't have a place for him in their new life/home. As he anxiously paced the fence line while watching them pull away, staff took a video to show how confused and upset he was. This anxiety lead him to over eat/drink and he wound up having lethal bloat. One of the volunteers noticed him laid out breathing heavily and was able to get approval to rush him to the ER. He had emergency surgery and they were fearful he wouldn't make it through the night.

Well, Tontin make it through the night and a CCHS foster home stepped up to take him in! He is working very hard to understand his new surroundings. As each day passes, he acclimates a little more to indoor life, family life, and life in a pack. He is quick to bond to his care giver and is very eager to please. He does not like being left alone for long periods of time, so the best home for him would be one that understands this and has the time to work with him to help him understand that he won't be abandoned again, ever.  This is a beautiful soul that has obviously never experienced the love of a good family - are you that family?
